This Confederate sack coat scaled down to child size. The coat is made out of wool and is unlined . The collar is the basic stand up military style collar. The four buttonholes are sewn by hand.
I have decided to make my kids garments out of the same fabric and with the same details as my adult garments. The market price per yard of wool is the same no matter what size garments are made from it. The only difference is the smaller amount of fabric that is saved - a little less then half a yard. So any military garments for young kids were made elsewhere. I make them close to an adult garment without being an exact copy
