The pattern for this jacket is not from any Confederate Depot. This Shell jacket looks like a jacket made at home. The jacket is made out of the same jean wool and with the same attention to detail as the adult shell jackets. The lining is made out of muslin or homespun fabric. This coat has a 6 piece body and a one piece sleeve. This jacket has one inside pocket. The number of the hand-sewn button holes for this jacket are varied with each size . If you looking for an authentic looking shell jacket for your young Rebel, this is it.
I have decided to make my kids garments out of the same fabric and with the same details as my adult garments. The market price per yard of jean wool is the same no matter what size garments are made from it. The Confederate Depots did not make garments for boys. So any military garments for young kids were made elsewhere. I make them close to an adult garment without being a copy.
MY GARMENTS ARE MADE IN RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA BY ME!
